Psssst ... Hey ... Syria ..... watch yer ass, there.
All the talk of the 'next war' seems to be pointed toward Iran. A war, that if undertaken, would blow the whole Iraq thing to new levels of violence and intractability. Such a war would effectively fuse the Iraq 'insurgents' with the Iranian army and make our military's lives even more a living hell than it is. Further, Iran is likely to be no patsy. They won't roll over to please idiot son. But all the talk is anti-Iran and 'tough'.

But wait ......

There have been a few small stories about conflicts on the Syrian border ..... aaaaaaaall the way over there ......

Syria's no Iran. A war with Syria might be just what Doctor Rove is prescribing. Easy to fight (ha!). Easy to spin cuz NO one has been talking about it like there's been debate about Iran. I say easy to spin because idiot son would be controlling the discussion simply by virtue of the fact that, so far, there *is* no discussion.

There was story that came up - maybe a month or so ago now - of our guys fighting **uniformed** opposition on the Syrian border. It was reported for a day or so and then *poof*. It was gone. Indeed a google search now turns up nothing.

Just recently, there was a little dust-up in or near Karabilah ..... not Karbala ..... al Karabilah. Maybe 10 miles from the Syrian border. CNN had a little blurb on it just a few days ago.

I read this and think about it and I can't help going back about 30 years.

Cambodia.

Ya gotta wonder ......

Maybe the best thing would be to give idiot son a few more of these to play with on the oval office carpet for those times when he's not riding his tricycle or playing dress-up. Maybe he can masturbate to these and get what he needs that way.

1. A few months ago I read a statement
put out by Iran. Don't have a link, sorry. Iran stated that they have a pact with Syria. If either country is attacked, they will defend the other. And also Iran said if they feel threatened they reserve the right to pre-empt and attack.
This means no matter which way the bushes bend, we're screwed.

Iran, Syria Pact Raises Eyebrows

Report: U.S. Using Drones to Spy on Iran
Iran and Syria on Wednesday said they would unite against any challenges or threats to their nations' livelihoods, a move that could raise the stakes in the ongoing international dramas involving both countries.

The announcement came on the same day that a large explosion supposedly rocked the southern Iranian city of Dailam (search), but details remained sketchy about what happened.

On the alliance issue, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref (search), after meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Naji al-Otari (search), told reporters in Tehran: "We are ready to help Syria on all grounds to confront threats."

"This meeting, which takes place at this sensitive time, is important, especially because Syria and Iran face several challenges and it is necessary to build a common front," he added.

4. That would be a good idea
spread it to a whole other continent as well. Bush could not do a better job or destroying the US if that was his stated intention.

3. I would expect that any attack against
Iran or Syria will result in attacks against US interests across the middle east and in the U.S. (probably Britain too).

7. True, but there is a large muslim presence in the UK
and Blair is obviously Bush's strongest (if not only) ally in Europe. My guess is there would be some bombs in the UK.
