Does the truth even matter ?
The Bush Adminsitration can spin any falsehood into a rational explanation that will be accepted over the truth. A case in point is the DSM. It is fairly obvious to anyone that reads the top-secret memo that Bush and Blair conspired to deceive the citizens of each country in their attempt to get rid of Saddam. They lied about the WMDs. They lied about the threat to our nation. They admit that they must convince the people thru a "PR" campaign to accept the war as inevitable and justified when they admit that it would be illegal to invade another country without the proper justification. The British were a little weak-kneed about the entire plan. No such thing in the Bush regime - they were ready to invade - even if the British were not with them. They could have cared less about international law or any need for justification. They were going to war and they were going to convince America it was the right thing to do, even if they had to lie thru their teeth...which they did.

1. The truth matters to me, Kentuck
but apparently, not to the majority. Otherwise, there would have been mobs standing outside the W.H. gates, nooses in hand.

2. You have to take them at their word, sometimes:
"That's not the way the world really works anymore. We're an empire now, and when we act we create our own reality."

4. Truth.. Isn't that a word used a long long time ago? Doesn't have meaning
in this day and age. as Bush* says you just have to keep repeating your message over and over to get the propaganda out.
