We really have to stop the White House from invading Iran.
For no other reason than the fact that they are incompetent. He has proven that he is not up to the job.

That has to be the number one argument because it is the truest. Debate the importance of the mission or the accuracy of the intelligence or the morality of war all you want, those questions are all moot.

This guy can't do it. He is not capable and refuses to listen to those who are. He had his two practice wars and he gets WORSE at it not better.

All other arguments fail to meet the importance of that fact. His dunderousness is incalcuably stupid and cannot be allowed to play out his Oedipal issues any longer at our expense.

3. Invading Iran?
You mean getting alot of innocent civilians killed and sending alot of American's to their almost certain death? Iran is not Iraq...Iraq will look like a cakewalk compared to what would happen in Iran. Iran has a real military and hasn't been under sanctions for over a decade. My guess is any attack, even a limited attack on a few facilities would be responded to with a wave of violence against American interests around the world.

If the US goes into Iran it won't be another quagmire with a constant drizzle of casualties, the US will lose, badly and undeniably. Heavy reinforcements would be required within a few weeks (possibly sooner).

And your point is what?

10. That even the Republicans wouldn't go along with him
There would be things blowing up in large and small towns across the US, a draft would have to begin immediately and there wouldn't even be time to train the new recruits, the bodies would pile up so fast that there wouldn't be the time or resources to return them to the US, possibly not even time to retreive the bodies. I don't think even Bush's neocons would be happy with the prognosis.

Also, there would be no coaltion this time, I don't think even the UK or Israel would go along.

7. And Iran has extensive alliances and contractual deals with China,

Russia, India, etc.

Iraq had been more isolated due to the long term sanctions.

4. Any way to investigate if Washington is behind recent bombings...
In the current system, we'd have to go throuhg months of congressional beauracracy to find out, and by then, the WH would've already covered it up.

It seems almost impossible.

I know this might seem a little extreme, but I think our best bet right now is to hope the Iranian government is more capable than we think, and it is able to stop and maybe uncover any CIA/US plot to invade their country.

6. I'm beginning to doubt the prospect of an Iran invasion...
It's a logistical impossibility. It would draw a larger scale middle east war that is partly financially supported by China since those countries have such close ties.

From what I know of history, the United States has never won a war against a country that's supported by China.

8. Maybe just an air war?
We bomb people very well but do we have an army we can put on the ground? Face it we or no one can win in this type of war. It will be the same. The fighters will just melt away and fight like in Nam or Iraq and we do very bad in that type of war. I would say it is how wars will be fought for many years as they work for the people who are having their countries taking over. Once you see that you can not have a great land army as Germany, England, Japan, Russia, and we had you fight with what you have. They do better with their small arms and hit and run. Any one who can read can see that since the Fr. lost in Vietnam and we also did the same.It is staring us in the face. I will say that this does not give corp. big money but the DOD must see this also. It maybe fun to fly a 30 million jet fighter but it is really hardly needed.

12. Totally agree! The biggest obstacle to getting to the crux of this
is that 98% of the public have no clue that these overflights and unmanned planes are ALREADY in action over Iranian airspace. If it's not on the TV, "it isn't happening."

One thing we can predict with * is that he only knows one speed and that is belligerent aggression. He is now following the same game plan with Iran that he did with Iraq in mid 2002:

1. Start sending special ops, initiate flyovers, create propaganda about the country in the crosshairs (Osama is "in" Iran; they have nuclear weapons "at the ready"; they are "harboring terrorists"...etc.)

2. Sign off secretly on all invasion plans early, while telling Americans that "there are no war plans on my desk... I hope to resolve this peacefully....it's up to their leadership to comply with our demands, or ELSE...."

We need to head this looming Iran invasion off at the pass before we find ourselves in World War III.

The Dems/Independents/Repubs who have seen the light need to GET UP IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE AND EXPOSE THIS ILLEGAL ACTIVITY OVER IRAN THAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW. The people of this country need to hear about that this is going on. Air America? Scott Ritter would be a guest to invite on ASAP.

Here is Ritter's piece from today:

We do some bombing runs, and send in a few dozen troops, and then it's ove, right? Condi said that their elections weren't fair, so the people will be thrilled to have our soldiers invading their country, right? It'll be a cakewalk, right?
