My 71-year-old mother...
Who shocked me recently by going off on a rant about how greedy scumbags won't ever let the US legalize pot, just told me she's been targeted by army recruiters. Being barraged with literature and seductive "personal" letters from recruiters, generals, the Shrub, etc.

"You have a chance to stand up for your country!"

She's thinking about doing it. She is in pretty good shape for her age. Whatta ya think, DU??

5. Oh my god...
The mental image of Delene across the street (about Mom's age and a retired elementary teacher) in fatigues is horrible beyond description.

7. I double dog dare

6. The Marines tried to sign up my mother
She was about that age, too.

She got a t-shirt and some kind of poster out of them, as I recall. And a big, embarrassed apology.

Man, she had that guy talking to himself. It was gorgeous.

Make sure your Mom gets the t-shirt..................

8. For Heaven sake
71 years old mother
Don't they do their homework
I know its hardwork chimp having to write to a 71 year old mother to join the army
Why don't you write to the families of the dead soldier

This is not scrapping the bottom of the barrel
This is  simply utterly US sinking into insanity
