Quit saying Bush lied.
Lying is no big deal.
Clinton lied. LBJ lied. Pinocchio lied.
Lies are commonplace, and people forgive them.

Instead, tell it like it is.

Bush betrayed America!

4. "..... So Republicans Could Take the Senate"
Published on Monday, June 20, 2005 by CommonDreams.org
They Died So Republicans Could Take the Senate
by Thom Hartmann

Richard Nixon authorized the Watergate burglary and subsequent cover-up to advance his own political ambitions. Because Nixon's lies were done for the craven purpose of getting and holding political power, his lies - in the minds of the majority of the members of Congress - were elevated to the level of impeachable "high crimes and misdemeanors."

Bill Clinton had sex in the White House with Monica Lewinsky, but Congress concluded he'd lied about it to maintain political power. Another impeachable crime.

The real scandal of the Downing Street Memos, with the greatest potential to leave the Bush presidency in permanent disgrace, is their implication that lies may have been put forward to help Bush, Republicans, and Blair politically. If Bush lied to gain and keep political power, precedent suggests he and his collaborators in the administration may even be vulnerable to impeachment.

Conservatives say the Bush claims of WMD and "mushroom clouds" were a "lie of ignorance." Condoleezza Rice periodically does the talk-show circuit and repeats the "lie of ignorance" myth. "The entire world thought Saddam had WMD," she and other Bush representatives suggest over and over again. "We had bad intelligence."

5. And he lies so much...
that it's not even jolting to hear it. I suspect that many of the labotamized zombies who support him would admit that he's been lying quite a bit.

12. There's an important point to be taken here
which is that those who purport to be concerned with ethical behavior have a responsibility to distinguish among different kinds of lies. What is the purpose of the lie, what are its possible consequences? And what are the rights and proper interests of the person(s) to whom it's told?

I'm not sure any lying is 100% ok. But there's a big moral distinction to be drawn between, e.g., lying to try to protect someone from an unjust attack, vs. lying to try to cheat someone out of what is rightfully theirs.

21. even more effective: bush betrayed REPUBLICANS
the key to penetrating the right wing propaganda-drenched american psyche is to put a wedge between the propagandists and their victims.

saying that bush betrated america is close, but it allows the propagandists to dismiss this as left-wing ranting or whatever, as they dismiss us whenever we speak the truth. the average propaganda victim has been trained to ignore anyone who attacks their fearless leader.

saying the bush betrayed REPUBLICANS will make REPUBLICANS question, if only for a moment, that maybe we're worth listening to. because in that moment, we're not asking them to convert to liberalism, we're not asking them to change their values, we're not even asking them for their vote.

we're only asking them to think for themselves.

and the MINUTE they do that, the whole republican charade falls apart.

25. I understand the problem that you are addressing. So I buttress the word
"lies" up with adjectives and other accompaniments...

Egregious lies.
Mind-boggling lies.
100% pack of lies.
Murderous lies.
Mass murdering liars and thieves.
Lying every time they open their mouths.
Lying for breakfast.
Lying for lunch.
Lying for dinner.
Lying when they get into bed at night-- lying in their dreams.
Heinous lies.
Delusionary lies.
Total lies.
Psychopathic liars.
Fascist liars.
Bigoted, war-mongering, murderous, 'Christian' liars and hypocrites.

I could go on.

30. Here are some terms I think we should work into Bush texts:
Betray
Deceive
Swindle
Defraud

All of these are more emotionally laden than "lie."
