Freepers drooling over shrubs speech
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 07:22 PM by meisje
"I watched the speech on Fox. In his address today, President Bush exceeded the excellence of his address to the U N General Assembly last year."

"After listening to President Bush give a speech in his direct and clear manner, the words of those following him sound like gibberish. Congrats to our President on an outstanding speech.

"watched it on Fox. Great speech with the same Bush determination that has been characteristic of him from the start!!!"

"I thought the same thing about this speech -- in fact, it is one of the best speeches that I have heard him give! Pres Bush's demeanor was calm, cool, and collected while being decisive in what he had to say. He left no doubt in anyone's mind what he was saying! If I were France, Germany, China, and Russia, I would have been sinking way down in my chair for part of the speech!"

22. No. This is something REALLY important to know about Freepers.
They can't read body language. All those nervous gestures we saw? They can't read them. They can ONLY go by the words. And the force behind the words. Like if he gets louder at some point.

You have to know this about them or you will never get why they react as they do.

12. This is exactly correct...These republican fuckers...
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 08:17 PM by Oracle
hate the UN, ignored the UN and arrogantly invade Iraq for it’s oil...now these Bush fucks have the gall to ask the UN to bail them out...why? So they can then blame and trash the UN as the problem, not Bush. Shameless assholes!!!

Just like the republicans have always hated the “New Deal” with a passion...and would like nothing better thhan to get rid of all social progams, that's truly republican ideology...GREED! But they pretend, that they like Social Security, unemployment insurance, minimum wage, Medicare, child labor laws, etc…however they truly despise ALL of these programs, however they ALWAYS use them when it suits their purposes (to get votes) and then blast these same programs as the problem with our country.)

This goes for caring for our environment as well. These republicans couldn’t care less about the environment, (except to stand in some National park and make a speech to deceive voters that they really and truly care for clean air & water) What they really care about, is allowing industry to exploit our environment for profit... allowing these same republican party contributors, (the oil, coal and lumber industries) to exploit as they please, as the conseratives in congress strip away all regulations for pollution and clean up that these huge corporations should be resposible for...these republican supporting industries, pretend to want to help and save our environment, but we know the real truth...GREED!

The republicans say one thing and do another...just look at the republican ideology for the past 60 years...there lies the truth.

23. George ate no crow. He made no sense, but he ate no crow.
He didn't say he was sorry about anything, and he didn't ask for UN support.

Basically, he talked as if he already had it and the only discussion was going to be the kickback he gets for letting them in the gate.

10. Right, and Bush beat Gore in the debates too. What is
wrong with these people? Is the human mind really so malleable that it will rationalize absolutely anything? What good is democracy if people can honestly interpret Chimpy's speech today as excellent????

11. They are just trying to pump each other up
What else can they do? their brutish little dictator is self destructing right in front of them.
I'm sure the mantra is " If I say he's doing a good job ENOUGH times, than it's GOTTA be right, I hope "

18. I saw part of it running errands.
He looked pretty bad -- makeup made him look a little funny, and he kept slapping the podium with the palm of his hand when he was trying to make a point, but the movement seemed perfunctory, and underscored what I felt to be a lack of confidence in Bush. Wasn't able to catch many words, but his delivery was actually worse than the last one of his speeches I saw, and that's saying something. The guy is simply awful; that they could be praising that performance is kind of scary.

21. I did not seen the whole speech
But what I saw seemed like a rerun. It was stunning to me that the man has the chutzpah to stand up in front of people and continue to deliver the WMD line.

The parts I saw were just a rehash of the pre-war speech, as if nothing has been learned since.

Perhaps I have answered my own question, the simplest explanation is that he has not learned a thing. What a WA!

26. i was amazed
his delivery wasn't bad.. i only heard it on npr though, i didn't see the body language.

he said NOTHING.

then he brings up the sex-trade thing as his "humanitarian" cause, how frickin shallow..

it's kind of funny, as i listened to it, i could almost hear symbolman or someone cutting and pasting his words with the obvious contradictions and putting it in a flash presentation..

i can't wait to hear it!!
