2. Yeah, they found him guilty of the 'lesser' offense so he would not have

to spend 'life in prison'...hahahahahahahahah!! If he spends 5 years it will be 'life in prison' No matter how long he spends in prison, it will NEVER be long enough..he simply does not have enough years left to pay for his crime!

He's 80 and in failing health, so it's clearly the judge doling out some harsh punishment.

Does any legal analyst/wanna be lawyer want to explain to me why the man got convicted of Manslaughter and not Murder? I think the Judge, with the sentence, made it pretty clear that he felt it was murder (with a maximum life sentence).

6. There was insufficient evidence placing him at the actual scene to

convict him of murder. There was, however, testimony as to him assisting in the planning, etc. So, while he was involved, they couldn't prove that he actually carried out the acts, so manslaughter was the best they could do.

I think both the verdict and the sentence are fair considering the way the case was prosecuted and the availability of evidence. Would I have rather seen a murder conviction? Yup. Did I expect one? Not at all.

5. Christians should make every effort to keep him alive

for a very long time. Round the clock vigils, feeding tubes, the whole shebang. If they truly value life they will see to it that he serves his entire sentence(s). Unless, of course, they are hypocrites.
