Anybody else notice how, when Dean attacked Republicans,
it was presented as an attack on any registered Republican, but when Rove attacks Democrats, it's just an attack on Democratic politicians?

Dean was presented as having insulted anyone who is white, Chrisitian, and Republican. Half the damned country was encouraged to take personal offense. But Rove's comments aren't worth noticing, because he's just talking about policy and politicians.

1. How about this?
Don't you find it interesting that the MSM deems Rove newsworthy? That they're actually interviewing him?

He holds no elected office, yet there is the unspoken (and perfectly valid) assumption that he runs the show.

No one seems to find that odd.

They get away with everything, Stirk. They get away with every damn thing.

2. Good point.
It's implied, and it's accepted... but it's nothing you can actually *say*.

Kind of reminds me of the way Reagan was treated during Iran/Contra. There was this widespread assumption that Reagan didn't know shit about what was actually going on, but *nobody* would come right out and say he was a prop.

3. Rove called into question the motives of Democrats. He said
in a speech reported in the NYT today. "Has there ever been a more revealing moment this year?" Mr. Rove asked. "Let me just put this in fairly simple terms: Al Jazeera now broadcasts the words of Senator Durbin to the Mideast, certainly putting our troops in greater danger. No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals."The MOTIVES of the Liberals like Sen Durbin? What MOTIVES does Rove have in mind? That is as close to calling a US Senator a traitor as it gets. He should be forced to answer.

Dean was raked for calling Repukes "White Christians"? Where is our media when it comes to Rove's comments questioning the patriotism of Democrats? That's just "politics".

4. I've noticed it and I am taking Rove's comments personally.
I demand an apology! I was as horrified and angry as anyone on 9/11. I am not interested in getting the hijackers any therapy. I demand to know from this administration.....1) Who, exactly, are the perpetrators of 9/11? 2) Where is the evidence? 3) What are you doing about it other than blindly lashing out at all Arabs hoping to snag one or two who might be involved? Maybe you could send the plain-speaking president out to explain it to us?

5. It might also help
if we could get to see what's in the redacted 28 pages of the 9/11 Commission report and hear what Sibel Edmonds has got to say. Then we might see where the real outrage lies.

7. Yes, I want some truth instead of insults from this administration.
I'm fed up with Democrats being viewed as wimpy by this administration. Tell us who we should be fighting, Rove! I'm not anti-war, I'm anti-misguided war, tell us who is responsible for 9/11, release the information, show us the proof!

6. I think you are right to connect the two events - Dean & Rove
For all the talk about how Dean was supposedly "hurting the DNC" with his comments, two weeks later, Rove does it and the echo chamber MSM runs with it. If it was such a horrible tactic then why did PR-Guru Rove ape it?

Last year they called Dean's supporters "wild eyed". This year they put those "wild eyes" in their own campaigns:

Seems like the GOP likes what Howard Dean does enough to do it themselves.

8. Anyone who believes anything Rove and BushCo machine spew out
at this point.. wow.. lets just say I've got a bridge to sell um! :P

I think the problem is that intelligent Democrats have a hard time taking Rove and BushCo seriously since they are so obviously liars and criminals. We really should get pissed at his statement about Democrats though, if only use their own BS tactics against them.
