Rumsfeld:U.S not losing the war
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 05:29 PM by ls317
Donald Rumsfeld has said the US is not losing the Iraq war and it would be a mistake to set a timetable for American troops to leave the country

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4123808.stm

Damn what war is he watching or involved in the decison making process, go tell that to the familes of the 1700 plus soldiers that have been killed.
Unfreaking real who in the hell is he kidding!

4. in an alternative reality
The whole administration doesn't seem to be in the same universe as we are.

They remind me of where I used to work. The reality was whatever they said it was....even if contradicting facts were staring you in the face. They create their own reality, and expect us not to gag on the bull shit their cramming down our throats.

6. Yep
"We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality-judiciously, as you will-we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

A senior adviser to Bush, as quoted by RON SUSKIND.

5. yuh huh...

doesn't he realize that if this administration were to tell the truth about anything it would be an accident, a statistical anomaly?

i've often imagined what a cabinet meeting with these deluded and denying fools would be like.

"well, Donald, how about an update on Iraq?"
"Uh, Mr. President things are going great. we kill a lot of insurgents. altho it is true Ayatollah Khamanie won the election, we can still work with him. he owes us."

"Donald?"
"Yes, Condi?"
"I think you're mixing up Iran and Iraq"
"Am not."
"Am so!"

Rumsfield pauses and looks at a map.
"Hmm. Well, they are very close to each other. It is easy to get confused. Still, Iran, Iraq, we're winning the war on terrorism."

there is another pause.

* asks a question.
"Donald, do we have troops in Iraq and Iran?"
The Vice President speaks up.
"Have another rasinet, Mr. President."

sheesh. a confederacy of mean spirited, pimping dunces.

11. Are they having trouble keeping their stories straight
Perhaps Rummy needs to tell Cheney that it would be a mistake to set a time table. After all, he said we should be out of Iraq by 2009, didn't he?

14. "Credibility Gap"
Commentator on "Hardball" just said that the Bush administration having a hard time keeping up the pretense that they are having success in Iraq. Called it a "Credibility Gap" - I like it! Simple phase that anyone can understand.
