No one had to tell Kathleen Keryan that moisture problems have been eating away at newer homes and condos. Keryan and the 10 other owners of St. Andrews Condominiums in Southwest Portland know firsthand.

Their condos, just 3 years old, need an estimated $1 million in repairs.

"It's more than money," Keryan said. "It's the pain and the anguish and the disappointment you have knowing that something you bought in good faith is defective."

1. That's really unfortunate...

Builders are putting up cheap condos and skimping on quality materials. However, these homes look gorgeous. People are fooled into buying them--thinking they are getting quality.

They're not.

Then, when these homes/condos begin coming apart at the seams--because the builders are lazy, cheap vultures who want $500k for a condo that cost $75k to build--they whine and cry.

Now they want to screw the homeowners again by limiting their right to sue for repairs? Hello...you make a cheap home--you fork up the dinero for the damage.

(And by the way--don't most homes come with a warranty? Wouldn't most of these repairs be covered in the home's warranty?)

Why should the homeowner be saddled with hundreds of thousands in repairs because the builders are greedy, blood-sucking chumps?
