Ten commandment decision coming soon from supreme court
Judgment Day looms for US Supreme Court on Ten Commandments cases

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The US political, religious and legal establishments are braced for two critical Supreme Court rulings on the Ten Commandments, weighing heavily on the separation of church and state.

The decision, expected as early as Thursday, could inflame conservative evangelical groups or opposing civil liberties lobbies, and thrust the court squarely into partisan politics.

6. If they rule that the Ten Commandments can be displayed in
schools or other government property, our democracy is finished.

Maybe I'll just move to some "real" democracy like Iraq, Iran, or Egypt.

As a guess, I think that only Scalia, Rehnquist and Thomas will think it's constitutional and it will get shot down by the other six.

But the fact that these three bugshit insane people, who have voted in favor of virtually everything the Constitution doesn't stand for, doesn't bode well for the future of this country.

The Democrats must make a stand on Bush's next maniac appointment to the Supreme Court. And if their filibuster rights are shot down by Bill Frist, we will know that the day has arrived on which we must consider EVERY option open to a free people.

7. Is the court filing available anywhere?
I'm sure it's much more complex than "can we put a 2 ton monument of the 10 Commandments in front of the court house".

I would like to be able to read the actual filing to see just what it is they are deciding on.

8. They 'll rule that indivduals can't erect the 10 Commandments
on public property...but that a corporation can put them on your front yard if it increases tax revenues.

9. after Bush makes his SCOTUS appointments, they'll be REQUIRED . . .
to be posted on/in every home, business, church, government office, school, garage, restaurant, bus, train, and plane in the US . . . and kids will have to memorize them in order to move on to the second grade . . .

10. For the most part

the SC has ruled in favor of the seperation of church and state, with a few exceptions, and albeit somewhat narrowly.

I'm surprised they took it up again. In the past they ruled against placing it in classrooms and courtrooms I believe.

This will really depend on how O'Conner and Kennedy rule.
