The Next Prez: John McCain
Yay or nay? Certainly better than Bush, but not a Democrat. I fear mod Republicans, they win among Repubs and the Independents.

27. I agree. That kissing up to chimpy after chimp et al questioned
his patriotism AND mental health was unforgiveable.

will change? I myself will never vote for a Republican even if it's Jesus Christ himself. Besides that John McCain is a hard right winger himself even if he doesn't always walk in lockstep.

5. Um...
Nay!

I used to have SOME respect for him until he campaigned with Bush last year even after Bush slimed him so bad in the 2000 primary.

In hindsight, I can't believe we had Leiberman on a ticket.

Nope. We need a QUICK trip back to the left, now a SLOW rise from the depths we're in now.

9. The fact that he's Anti-Choice...
among a lot of other things would make him a no-go for me.

Besides, I feel he's made a deal with the devil...

11. I've lost all respect for him....
anyone who could cozy up to bush after what they did to him in the South Carolina Primary in '00 doesn't deserve ANYONE'S respect.

McCain can go to hell with the rest of the GOP slime.

16. Wouldn't take much to be an improvement.
McCain has occasionally shown signs of integrity, which would be better than what we have now, and certainly better than the other end of what the Republicans could offer up.

Who can we run against him?

21. What position has McCain publicly taken on our torture policy?
After all, as a former POW who was tortured, you would think he should have strong feelings opposing its use and would speak out against it as often and strongly as possible.

28. You may be right. He's playing politics all over the map.
If the Democrats run another "electable" candidate like Kerry who will try to out "moderate" him by patronizing the right, he should win it in a walk. It would be a sure winner for the DLC/RNC.

I'm planning to vote Green unless a miraculous strengthening of Democratic backbone should take place and they actually dare to run someone who is "too liberal".
