What if the country finally caught on to what's really happening?

I know it's a big "IF" but say that happens-- or, at least,
a healthy percentage of the populace-- and they're up in
arms and demand the neocons to resign. It's front page
news everywhere (I really am dreaming, aren't I?).

Somehow I can't see bushco folding-- I have this fear that
they'd say, in essence, "TOUGH LUCK, PEOPLE-- we're not
going anywhere. We're here to stay!! So shut up or we'll
shut you up-- permanently!!"

Anyone else ever thought this? Can you honestly see them
quietly going home??

It's reminiscent of something Rod Serling would have written.

3. I hope you're right but I can't help remembering that they have

the means (arsenal) to "whip us into shape." If we get unruly,
they can nuke us. There's no one to intercede-- no one to protect

I think they're here to stay. I posted links in a thread I started on the DU Peak Oil discussion group that discussed the way the WH and VP residence were adapted after Bush took control. All solar this, photovoltaic that and a huge water cistern, and they won't tell specifically what was done to the VP residence but it involved loud booms. You can search my name or do a Google search if you're curious, but they really settled in.

The way I see it, it's entirely possible now, and has been for years (since at least Patriot I).
