Repukes can only do business if they have an enemy |
|
I heard Bill Clinton say that a long time ago and today it's more obvious than ever at how true it really is. When 9/11 happened it was easy having Bin Laden and Al Qaeda as the enemy. The next enemy was Saddam and Iraq.
Now that strategy is failing so the next enemy are democrats.
Most repukes think in simplistic terms and see it as good vs. evil. There is no gray and no middle ground. I think that's why they've been as successful as they have been.
Being a follower of politics as I am I know much of this is what's been going on for quite a while, but it's rarely out in the news such as Rove's comments were.
I believe most Americans now see how horrendous of a mistake this war is and I also believe they won't take this regime's word at face value anymore. Even the corporate media hasn't been to nice to them as of late.
Yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

1. Yes, because they trade in fear.... |
|
and that means a scary, threatening outsider is needed.
Trying to turn Americans they don't agree with into the Enemy is a risky move at best. It may work for those we spend their lives preaching to their own select choir (like Rush Limbaugh), but it will not work when trying to lead the whole country.

2. You said it better than I did |
|
:)
I think what rover did damaged the repubs far more than they anticipated.
It seems like that there have been a series of blunders by the repukes that have managed to find their way out no matter how much the corporate media has tried to ignore it.

3. I hate to be pessimistic |
|
but that methodology has worked for quite a while now. They've had congress for 10 years now. Everytime I think Americans won't stand for their (or Bush's) crap..they keep on electing them.

4. Middle ground and shades of gray require thought |
|
It is **much** easier for the distracted sheeple to get simple (simplistic) black/white, good/bad messages.
