Anthony Cordesman, the Center for Strategic and International Studies Arleigh Burke Chair in Strategy, discusses his recent visit to Iraq. Cordesman, who traveled at the invitation of the U.S. government, visited several areas throughout Iraq, including Baghdad and Hilla, where he met with combat commanders and staff in high threat areas. In particular, Cordesman met with Coalition and Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq personnel who are involved in the training of the Iraqi security forces. Cordesman also discusses his book that is awaiting publication, Iraqi Force Development: The Challenges of Partnership in Nation-Building.
