Any comments on HARDBALL tonight? |
|
I walked through the living room and must had left the TV on MSNBC by accident because I never watch those schmucks anymore.....but anyway, there was NORA O'DONNELL answering a question from David Gregory...
Gregory asked: WHY did Rove make this statement?
Nora's answer: Because the polls are showing public support for the war and Bush* are slipping and the Republicans think that alluding to the Who do you trust to protect you? question turns numbers in their favor. She noted that Simple Scotty mentioned the word "philosophy" about a dozen times in one sentence today and the purpose of that is to draw the attention to a LARGER issue than how badly the war in Iraq is going.
I could scarcely believe what I was hearing. Somebody was finally calling the Repubs on using 9/11 as a diversionary tactic! It was journalism.....I mean REAL JOURNALISM.....
Maybe Tweety should be replaced permanently.

1. I caught just the last 20 minutes or so |
|
and was very pleased, as well, by the general tone. David Gregory is great on Hardball. Chris Matthews should take a permanent vacation.

other night with Gregory covering the DSM, liked the questions he asked and have been watching him the last several nights....
Saw tonite's show and I have to agree...Gregory is really good and if Chris Matthews never returned, no tears would be shed here....

3. gregory is a much better interviewer than mathews, he wants a story |
|
its the sign of a good journalist, one who believes that the art of journalism is in the development of the narrative.

His polite, civil way of allowing everyone to speak without brash interruptions has been a breath of fresh air. I've noticed that it has a positive effect on the guests' behavior as well.

Dick Gregory was a comedian/civil rights activist of the '60s, if I remember right. Easy mistake to make -- I keep calling Howard Dean John Dean. :)

Thanks, Blue! (And I think "John Dean" right away myself when I see "Dean".)
