If we get screwed in '06 like we did in '04 and '00 should we think
about how to take America back other than playing by the rules?

4. We need to do that now. 2006 will be too late.
We can't afford the luxury of playing by the rules.

8. I just think that sitting back and waiting to see what happens is
silly. We already know what we're up against.

5. The only screwing we will experience in '06
will come from the Democratic PArty.

Just like they screwed us in '04.

The word is "ineptitude" and it's a common practice of Democratic politicians.

20. Democratic Party
The Democratic party will remain ineffective as long as the current campaign finance system is in effect. It was obvious that Kerry was hamstrung when it came to attacking W on issues that could have won the election for him (Iraq, Patriot Act, NAFTA, immigration and Oil/Gas gouging etc). Kerry knew better than bite the hand that feeds.

6. You can't win when playing a fixed game.
Or better yet participating in a rigged system rarely helps your cause.

11. Look
it is us thinking about alternatives. The DNC had the experience or groups with experience to know that combating a criminal enterprise would need counter intelligence, hardball use of media, shrewd strategies not issue papers, detectives, former Intel ops and agents to match what the other side uses. Use of the judges and attorneys to stop or catch r punish local fraud. Slamming information like the Gannon affair rather like the Daschle campaign shuffleboard team dropping it for good.

Gaming the expected. Outsmarting the cheap criminal element loaded with predictability, warped brains and hubris. Trusting the people to give money and support rather than stand around surprised when IT HAPPENED then glomming on like hapless newbies who want the money but not to change their losing ways.

You don't have to be crooked. You do have to walk the dark places and shine the light. Leadership. Enlisting the appropriate help. Fighting not just in measured polite rhetoric with an eye to 2% swing voters suffering from invincible ignorance. Fighting without fear and equivocation.

NOT having that in the only hope left for democracy destroys faith in the system utterly when it was only a specific leadership and vision failure. Violence won't get you what we should have right now. Competency with conviction.

13. I agree Patrick
2004 was hard to sit and watch. All the gloating was murder, knowing we were cheated out of our country by nothing less than common criminals.
We do, however, have one thing over the repugs. Intelligence. But we better be organized and on our toes in'06. Wouldn't taking the Senate AND the house back. WE could impeach W for treason and possibly regain some respect in the world.

12. Only one problem...
need to get boots on the ground to wake up the rank and file citizens to what is going on in America. As has been stated many times before on this forum, the media is not doing their job and reporting the news, so most Americans could give a rats ass about politics and therefore don't even know the trouble they are in.

14. Succession
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 09:30 PM by Lone_Wolf
I think it would be a very good thing if the US broke up into three smaller countries. It seems the bigger a country is, then the more unresponsive it becomes to the interests of its common citizens.

Edited typo

15. I agree with succession
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 09:09 PM by dejaboutique
why the heck can't we just start doing that anyway? If any state trys to break from the union first it would be oregon, they were the first to refuse to follow the patriot act. The whole west coast could just be a mecca of blue people and if the reds dont like it they can go their red country/state whatever.
