Phil Hendrie just replied to my email with some freeper nonsense

Is Hendrie a freeper? I used to listen to his show, and would be surprised if he's not punking me with this.

My email to him:

This request is to ask you to please aggressively cover the Downing Street Memo. Those who have loved ones in harm's way in Iraq deserve to know the extent to which this administration has gone to deceive the media, Congress, and the American people into believing that the invasion and occupation of Iraq was a necessity.

I found out the Downing Street Memo is actually a fake intended to further slander a President who happens to be on the future side of the historical divide. As such, he is both hated and loved in extreme amounts as all great men have been.

I find it almost impossible to believe you're a freeper or a neocon. This has to be a joke.

4. I heard part of his show tonight

and the "guest" was an 'angry liberal' who abused his autistic son because of his rage at Bush. I find him funny sometimes (more the angry people who call in), but I felt like he was making fun of liberals tonight... well, obviously he was, but in a freeper sort of way.

6. Has Hendrie EVER had a serious topic on his show?

His show is carried on the local Progressive Radio affiliate here in Denver after Randi goes off and I usually start listening to music about that time. His callers all seem to be bogus just to stir up listeners. I haven't decided if it's just a satire show or not. Even so I wish that the station would carry Mike Malloy or another progressive talk show in Hendrie's place and I've written to them requesting that.

He used to be funny. Very un-PC. However, directly after 9-11, I quit listening because he did two weeks of "serious" talk. After that, his show never quite got back on track.

Phil Hendrie does all the voices on his show. ALL of them. Himself. The only time a real person is involved is when someone who thinks the show is real calls in to complain.

His goal is to get those suckers to call, so he'll have a character say anything to rile folks up.

The show isn't real. It's an amazing performance, by a talented guy, whose politics we don't seem to know.

I did hear one show where the character was a surly buffoon who was outraged that the NFL would put female announcers on the sidelines of a game- his argument was that they were put there to purposely sexually arouse him, and he didn't like it. The guy was a total put on (like all "guests" he was voiced by Hendrie) and seemed to me to be making fun of a red state POV.

So who knows.

But don;t expect him to "cover" anything. He's less real than the Daily Show by a wide margin.

His email address was, unknown to me, included in a very long list of media addressed posted here at DU. I didn't even know I'd included him in the mass mailing until I received his reply.

However, I don't know which is worse: bring a genuine freeper, or spreading freeper lies as a prank.

In other words, is he crazy, or just plain evil?

Email him and ask him why it is that back when he was on WIOD down in Miami, and he got a huge audience ONLY cuz he had NEIL ROGERS for a lead in, that he was a FLAMING LIBERAL.
