Bush Administration Psychological Warfare Against the US?
http://www.dissidentvoice.org/June05/Zeese0623.htm

Sam Gardiner has taught strategy and military operations at the National War College, Air War College and Naval War College. He was recently a visiting scholar at the Swedish Defense College. During Gulf II, he was a regular on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer as well as on BBC radio and television, and National Public Radio. He authored “The Enemy is Us” an article describing how the Bush Administration used disinformation and psychological warfare -- weapons usually used against the “enemy” -- against the American public in order to support the war in Iraq. He has done an extensive analysis of the media coverage before the war, during the war, and during the occupation as well as of the statements of Administration officials. His conclusions are startling and of great concern. His findings can be found in a report entitled “Truth from These Podia.”

1. Used...in the past tense?
They are still using it. Goebbels had nothing on these people. They have convinced huge swaths of America that dissent is "unpatriotic," that disagreeing with demented Repuke dogma is "unpatriotic." Big Brother is here, on TV and radio, in the newspapers, and I feel AmeriKKKa is welcoming him with open arms and open hearts. I might have had a hiatus from DU for a while, but beleive me when opportunities have arisen to inform, I have...as my PATRIOTIC DUTY TO AMERICA! That's right...it is our PATRIOTIC DUTY to fight for tolerance, freedom, and openness in government, not for kowtowing and apologizing for telling the truth!

5. Hello
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 09:53 PM by PATRICK
the Bush family has ex and current Intel ops on retainer for just these purposes just to win elections! Meanwhile the Dems rely on straight up CIA whistleblowers up front and can do sneaky stuff in the Ukraine without ever getting the point it is happening here too.

This itself, turning one's disruptive skills against one's own democracy is probably as illegal here as it is covertly illegal outside the country. Cripes, you don't need to be a scholar to see this blunt reality.

What you do need is names, evidence and a forum of justice. Or a media to simply let us see the obvious. A media that still barely needs to be pushed by the RW to do the wrong thing, but is immune to crimes that clearly call out to heaven for simple exposure.

8. Does Gardiner have more to say about media reform?
And if not, why not?

There's a reason the media were "lazy," as he puts it--because for at least a couple of decades, their corporate bosses have been more likely to keep and promote them if they reserved their pointed questions for subjects like the sex lives of Dems.

9. No Question About It.
Gulf War I was launched just before the Suoer Bowl.
Gulf War II was launched during the NCAA sweet sixteen.
Time and again diversions, feints and distractions are used for cover, to the point that I personally stopped counting.
The author mentions the down Pilot. This was Scott Speicher. This was one of a hundred plus stories that Ahmad Chalabai planted with the 100 million dollars we gave him with Richard Perle's help. His role was in a Knight Ridder piece about a year ago.
