I just told the TRUCK TO STOP SPRAYING POISION!!
My neighbor has a Christian party for teens...they use his (and wife's) pool, then I notice this smell, then the sound...of a sprayer truck...

I go out to my front yard and there sits a pickup truck spraying huge amounts of WHATEVER THE FUCK THEY USE TO KILL MOSQUITOS and I walk up to his truck and I said STOP THAT SHIT AND NOW!.

The guy got out of his truck and asked me what my problem was. I said I could smell this shit in my house and would he please leave?

He turned it off and left.

I hate my neighbors who think they can pay to blanket spray the yards of their neighbors with poison that you could choke on by walking outside and expect me to support it...

Fuckers.

1. I don't blame you for being angry... why don't they try using bats?
Much more environmentally friendly. :)

9. I asked if I could put up a Bat House
At my last rental. Was told no. This time I'm not going to ask.

Bats rock! And they are really beautiful.

I'd like to think so.
Neighbors do not have the right to spray bug killer in massive quantitites just because they had a Christian pool party.

This guy was spraying off of the back of his beat-up pick up.

His sprayer was so loud, I noticed it over my own music. And when I looked at the situation.,,,a pickup pouring tons of malathion or whatever he was using out of his truck....

3. well if they give you any crap..tell them you are highly sensitive to
chemicals!! you can legally stop them from spraying..i had a neighbor who had heart attack type ( symptoms but not heart attacks..just acted like them) ..and no one in our neighborhood was allowed to spray anything!..the city made it illegal for anyone to spray yards or anything!..she was hyper sensitve to sprays after years of using household chemicals..

since then i only use vinegar to clean my home!!..makes hardwood floors shine beautifully!!
just takes getting used to ..we think smells make the house clean..now clean to me is the smell of vinegar!!

4. Where do you live where a private citizen can just hire a sprayer truck?
It sounds insane to me. That stuff is hideously toxic. There must be local regulations against it...aren't there??/

6. Neighbor's business is Landscaping.
Doesn't matter that his poorly landscaped hill above me (caused many probs) he is an idiot. He hired an idiot. Selfish is the word.

I don't like other people's problems in my yard.

5. The fog man! the fog man!
When were were kids in N'wawlins (1960s, early to mid) we used to chase the damn jeeps that sprayed our neighborhoods and run in the clouds.

Yeah, that had to be incredibly healthy.

Nobody's parents thought to suggest that was a Bad Idea.

8. I remember that in the 70's
Big 10 wheel truck came by about 2 twice a week and sprayed the whole neighborhood.

With West Nile on the rise, you'ld think that this would start coming back in favor.

10. We have sprayers up here in Fargo, ND again
on a regular basis during peak season.

Trucks and planes, spreading insecticide all over town.

Hell, I'm a smoker who grew up drinking the sewage water and agricultural runoff of all of the Mississippir River basin while downwind of one of the nation's largest petro-chemical complexes.

Yeah, so what's a few more complex petrochemical molecules up the nose among friends, eh?

Sad, but true.

12. They do it in Southern Illinois
When I was in college (5 years ago, before West Nile) there was a big stink about the fogging truck that went around town spraying on a weekly business.

13. We did in Houston, too.
That's when the spray was thick and fog-like. Could not even see through it.

7. Why didn't they all just pray for the mosquitoes to go away?
Actually bats are the best way to get rid of them.
They could get a horde of mosquito hawks, or darning needles as we call them....or one of those big mosquito attracting machines that I see advertised in catalogs. There is absolutely no reason to spray that poisonous crap around any more.
