We need to ENCOURAGE and SUPPORT Howard Dean
Yeah, I know he's not fiery enough some times and doesn't always say what he should say. But, damnit, he is making a difference and we should be supporting him, not criticizing him. Let the Republicans be the critics, not us. He has a huge job in raising money and countering the RW spin machine. He needs our support 100%.

1. I'd agree
I don't think criticizing him gets us anything - it just makes us look weak and divided.

2. Letter from the DNC.
Dollar for Dollar match campaign. From now and into 2006, the DNC will match every dollar you contribute into sweeping the corrupt congress out of office.

"We will match every online contribution the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee receives by June 30th, dollar for dollar to make sure Democratic candidates have the early money urgently needed to sweep the corrupt, extremist Republican Majority out of Congress.

Make a secure, online contribution of $35, $50, or $100 to the DCCC. Your early money gift will be DOUBLED and have twice the impact on the mid-term elections.

The 2006 elections are pivotal, and the President and the Republicans are well prepared to defend their turf. They outspent us by $66 million in the last election and are already hitting up their well-heeled special interest donors to buy another election.

Just last week, President Bush held a fundraiser for some of the Republican Party's wealthiest backers, raking in $23 million to bankroll the campaigns of his hand-picked candidates for the House and Senate.

Meanwhile Democrats keep pushing back on him and his rubberstamps in Congress on everything from Social Security privatization to ethics to stem cell research - but they will not give up, and will no doubt spend their millions waging some of the most expensive and deceptive propaganda campaigns we've seen yet.

We simply must close this formidable financial gap. We can do it - not with $1,000 a plate dinners with the "haves" and the "have-mores" - but by reaching out to the legions of loyal Democrats like you in all 50 states. We're doing our part with this "EARLY MONEY" MATCHING GIFT CHALLENGE. Now we need you to do yours.

Contribute $35, $50, or $100 to the DCCC today to have your early money contribution matched!

While President Bush is busy flying across the country raising money to keep his stranglehold on Congress, the Democrats are doing our JOB - fighting to protect the interests of average Americans from the corrupt, radical right-wing agenda of the Republican Party.

But that means we are counting on committed Democrats like you to help us as we recruit the best candidates and give them the resources they need to compete on the campaign trail."

3. Take a lesson from the Republicans
Even Bloomburg in Democratic New York avoiced overtly criticizing Karl Rove.

4. As a Dean supporter I agree....and disagree.
I supported and voted for Dean in the primary and I love the fact that he's stayed involved.

You're right that we should support him. However, we should also criticize him as we see fit. Blind support is one of the things that got us in this situation. I hope we can handle it better this time.

6. It's Not Support, It's Being Honest When Needed
Some folks need to grow some skins and realize that comments about Dr. Dean aren't always attacks on him, nor does it mean there's no support or he should be run out of the party.

I support Dr. Dean, as all Democrats, in fighting against this regime and I'm constantly wishing him nothing but the best. However, I won't put blinders on and if I feel something isn't right, I'm gonna say so.

Last night, Dr. Dean's appearance on TDS was underwhelming considering all that has been happening the past week. Democrats are under attack and there's a deliberate Repugnican misinformation campaign underway, and Dr. Dean's remarks last night were tepid and measured...as if he's been slapped down one too many times already and he's afraid to say what he thinks or to express how many of us feel.

When Dr. Dean speaks up and is attacked for speaking the truth...like Repugnicans being the party of White Christians...I'm there with him totally. I want to really see him succede, but he doesn't get a free pass here. If your friends can't tell you the truth, who can?

7. Donated to the DNC last night and told them I only donated to
them because of Howard Dean. I don't donate to the DCCC. I *WILL* however, donate to our local dem and independent candidates. I wanted to do the monthly donation for $25, but hubby nixed that. He doesn't like giving money to anyone. I wanted to scream that the people with the big bucks to donate are donating their money to the repubs, and the dems need to get theirs wherever they can -- especially if we want to build the support.

The person said that they had a comment field and did I want her to enter a brief comment from me. I told her to tell Howard Dean to keep the momemtum and the pressure on, the tide is slowly changing.
