I don't care of Rove apologizes
Who cares? So what if, maybe, after days of demands, Rove issues a limited, forced apology. Do you really think that he will stop believing what he said? And it's not like me or anybody else here will all of a sudden start being nice to him, and say that all is well now.

When Dick Durbin apologized for his remarks did Republicans stop beating up on him? No.

Forget about the childish demands for an apology, and let's instead take this debate to the American people: Republicans believe that anyone who disagrees with the Bush Administration is a traitor and a terrorist sympathizer.

1. Good attitude
I'm tired of people - on both sides - crying for apologies. If someone says enough dumb things, they'll pay for it eventually. Until then, it just makes whoever's whining look like... a whiner.

4. Well the logic of the Apology is seductive
It's a visible win. If Rove apologizes that's something we can point to as a tangible victory.

The bigger win would be seeing Rove Resign in disgrace, but is that a viable goal? Or is shooting for an apology politically safer? I don't know. I think we and they have gone to the apology well a bit too often, as you indicate.

3. I agree
Rove apologizing will make no difference. He'll still be an evil bastard. Dubbin never should have apologized.

Let's stay focused and stay on message. And, as Rude Pundit said the other day "Calling out motherfuckers for fucking their mothers is as brutally honest as politics gets." Last night on Letterman Dave was complimenting Tom Cruise on calling out the guy with the squirt gun microphone. People seem to recognize bullies, and when bullies are called out and confronted, they fold.

5. I don't know if he believes what he said as it is

It's hard to tell with someone like Rove. He an occupational liar who clearly loves his job.

Republicans believe that anyone who disagrees with the Bush Administration is a traitor and a terrorist sympathizer.

That's a overgeneralization, but unfortunately an easy one to make. McCain and Hegel don't feel that way; most of the New England Senate Republicans don't feel that way; Chris Shays doesn't feel that way.

But too many others do.

The last remaining area where Mr. Bush scores high in opinion polls (well, still over 50%) is his handling of the war on terror. Why? He's completely bungled it. Instead of fighting a war on terror, he's fought a war against Iraqi sovereignty. Resources were taken out of Afghanistan, where the most dangerous terrorists are, to be put in Iraq. The situation in Iraq was never winnable and the situation in Afghanistan is disintegrating.

This is what the Democrats need to bring home: Bush has not fought an honest war on terrorism and that is why we a losing that war. Invading Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism or national security; Bush and his neoconservative aides knew it had nothing to do with terrorism or national security; they still assert that it had something to do with terrorism and national security long after that has been debunked. They are lying to us now; they lied to us then; they cannot be trusted. They either insist that there is something there that is not, in which case they are incompetent, or are trying to get themselves or their friends rich at the expense of American troops and the Iraqi people, in which case they're crooked.

The best way to serve America's national security is to remove the incompetents and crooks from office now.

If the Republicans want to serve the Bushies instead of the American people and the people of the world, then we will remove them from office in order to remove the Bushies.

6. It's not about the appology
its about getting Rove's mug and words out there to pierce the public psyche. He likes to be in the shadows. Keep him in the spotlight. And tied to bushco's now-recognized tactic of ruling via bullying. In the long run - when the impression sticks - it lasts a long time (look at how folks still ridicule Gore for the alleged "inventing the internet" statement.) Bushco (and DeLay) as bullies who use vilification to keep others in line - is an impression that is starting to sink in. So keep pushing the "Rove, Appologize!" story... it isn't about the appology...

7. They understand the Democrats better than that...
He won't apologize. He'll just wait a few days and lay low... and it will all blow over. Democrats do not pursue like Republicans.

8. It's just politicians grandstanding.
Who gives a rip what Rove, Limbaugh, and the other BushLackies say? Other than the media.

10. The attack on him should be about his divisiveness
it needs to be brought to light so all Americans can see it. They need us separate. If Republicans and Democrats ever get together, we could oust the whole administration....
