NYT: Bush Stands Firm on Iraq Amid Violence and Waning Support

but I thought it was oh so wonderful that the NY Times just loves to portray the asshole-in-chief as "stand(ing) firm."

Yes, everything the RW nuts do exhibits their resolve - which is based in their deep Xtian beliefs and their unwavering patriotism. Unlike those wishy-washy Dems, Rs are committed, full of resolve and standing firm, even if they're standing in the quicksand of an illegal war's quagmire.

It gives me so much faith in our leaders that they stand firm in the face of reality. It's rather like the Emperor's New Clothes...only the Emperor is standing firm as he grasps Thelma's hand and heads over the cliff in a convertible.

How about this for a headline:
