I was just contemplating this and thought I would share it with the group. One thing that has changed since 9/11 is this: Remember following 9/11 the scenes of candlelight vigils around the world, of special prayers and rallies where people around the globe waved US flags? Remember the shots of people in very poor countries donating money to help the US? What if something similar happened now? My guess is that there would be a few official offers of condolence, a few rude comments from less diplomatic leaders, a few celebrations in Iraq and otherwise a kind of eery silence.
