Canadians - I know none of you were voting Conservative...but
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 01:21 PM by HEyHEY
This just re-affirms why I don't.

"The federal Conservatives are hurling insults at the other parties after the a budget bill was passed in the Commons last night.
The Liberals, N-D-P and Bloc Quebecois joined in a snap vote to cut off debate, although the Bloc voted against the bill itself.
It includes 4.6 (b) billion dollars in social spending, and passed by a vote of 152-to-147.
The move clears the way for the Liberals to bring the same-sex marriage bill to a vote next week.
Tories are comparing the Liberals to Satan, and even movie serial killer Hannibal Lecter."

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? Comparing them to Satan... fuck the Tory god squad. I predict they will be smashed this next election. Canadians have never put up with this shit before.

1. I still wish we had a viable,
Nationally relevant Opposition. The Grits need something to keep them honest.

3. Conservatives have always been
'over the top' on everything they say and do.

They got caught with their pants down ...again...and they're furious.

Enjoy the show. :D

5. The CPC are the biggest bunch of fuck-ups I've ever seen..
And if Harper lasts more than 6 more months as Leader I'll grow 6 inches and start trying out for my beloved Cleveland Cavaliers. The guy has been a disaster since he was elected; he may do more to break up the party than anything Martin or The Grits could do...

I was laughing about this vote all last night; Harper looked like somebody peed in his Tom Hortons coffee..

7. That's the thing..
As much as I despise the CPC, they had a legitimate scandal fall into their laps, and instead of using it to gain a solid foothold in Ontario and even parts of Quebec, they instead fuck everything up so badly that the new polls actually have The Grits polls BETTER than they were pre-gomery! How much of a stupid-ass party do you have to be to convince people there that they'd rather have a party in scandal than the CPC?

When I'm able to vote I'll probably split my votes between a local NDP/National Liberal model, but I'd also really like to see the break-up of the CPC again to the far-right fundies and the old school conservatives again. Every country needs a fairly strong opposition party to keep the ruling party in check, and the way things are going, the CPC is going to be polling lower than the NDP by November..
