DVD pick of the week: The Daily Show With Jon Stewart: Indecision 2004 (Paramount, three discs, $39.99) is a brutally funny compilation of segments from Comedy Central's humorous-news show.
One disc has the show's coverage from the Democratic convention, a second the telecasts from the Republican convention. The third disc is a hodgepodge including a presidential debate, election night, a terrific Schoolhouse Rock parody and a surprisingly nice version of the National Anthem sung by Daily Show regulars Samantha Bee, Stephen Colbert, Rob Corddry and Ed Helms.
Let me explain how funny it is: I'm a registered Democrat, and I was laughing -- hard -- at the mockery being aimed at my own party.
Hop scotching through the set, I never had to wait long for a big laugh, whether it was in the Schoolhouse Rock parody (about mid-term elections) or in seeing Colbert ask Don King if ``associating with the Republican Party might bring a taint of corruption to boxing.''
