So Durbin apologized for his statements on Abu Ghr- sorry, Guantanamo Bay, and the right-wing fascists still aren’t happy. Of course, according to Amnesty International accusations and other allegations about our lovely little Cuban resort, the arbitrary holding and abuse of the camp’s residents are the very definition of inhuman and unconstitutional, and such policies could have been seen under Pol Pot, Hussein, Stalin, or Hitler.

Let’s hear some apologies from the right-wingers for their petty, unpatriotic Godwinning.

Grover Norquist: “The argument that some who play to the politics of hate and envy and class division will say is, ‘Well, that’s only 2 percent — or, as people get richer, 5 percent, in the near future — of Americans likely to have to pay ,” he told NPR. “I mean, that’s the morality of the Holocaust: ‘Oh, it’s only a small percentage. It’s not you; it’s somebody else.’””

1. I think the Norquist quote is from an NPR

interview done by Terry Gross on "Fresh Air".

I was driving to work paying half-attention to the interview when I thought I heard Norquist compare the 'unfairness of making a minority (wealthy people) pay taxes' with the 'unfairness of sending a minority (Jewish people) to their deaths.'

Before I could think :wtf: Terry Gross' voice had risen to a very high pitch and loud volume and she was talking fast and asking 'DID YOU JUST COMPARE PAYING TAXES WITH DYING IN THE HOLOCAUST?' (paraphrase).

In my imagination she must've been using all of her energy to keep herself from launching across the table and choking the idiot to death.
