Impeach The SOB
Many say that there's no chance of Bush being impeached until after the 2006 election. I suspect the Republican Party will soon realize that they won't hold the Congress unless they impeach before the election. I also reject the argument that Bush shouldn't be impeached because we'd just be stuck with Chaney as the President.

While on the one hand it is difficult to imagine Bush going down in impeachment without a concurrent trial of Chaney it is easy to imagine a Chaney Presidency on the other. It would be the model of a lame duck with absolutely no support in the congress, from the people, or in the courts. In short the Presidency would be nullified until 2006.

I think it can happen in fact is likely.

Your thoughts?

1. I agree
I've been saying, since the DSM were released, that the time to go for impeachment is NOW. Waiting for a miraculous 2006 Democratic sweep is nonsense. We've got the GOP where we want them and we have the ability to use Bush's lack of popularity and sweeping bad news against the administration.

And we shouldn't just stop at impeaching Bush, it should be the entire administration. They are all guilty of crimes against humanity. After they are impeached, they need to be incarcerated and imprisoned (see my sig line).

4. I wish you were right, but I'm afraid not.
If I remember correctly, you have to have a majority in the house to start an impeachment investigation in the house. I'm not sure you can do 2 at a time and that's what it would take to eliminate Shrub and DC Dick.

I really do wish you were right, but I'm afraid it's only wishful thinking.

6. Either Way
If they continue to defend Bush in not impeaching him then the Republican Party will loose the Congress in 2006.

On the other hand if they give us his head on a silver platter now they may hold the Congress in 2006 and still try to field a viable candidate in 2008.

One way or the other the country comes up the winner.

14. Personaly, I'd rather take over the congress in 2006.
It takes a long time for an impeachment. As much as I'd love to see this sucker go down, I'd rather see the congress go down because they supported him. I'd rather have the congress and the Senate and take the risk of yat another Pub President who wouldn't get any cooperation than put all my efforts to see Shrub thrown out.

5. Many have said we should impeach Cheney first...
...then Bush. I must say, that would probably be the best strategy. Cheney is the main bad guy and he's clearly the one running the show.

12. Right, he'd be next in line...
...and Ted Stevens, the President pro tempore of the Senate, would be his VP.

Some who say wait until after the 2006 elections have mentioned it would be better because Nancy Pelosi would become Speaker of the House and she would get to take over as President.

13. My Thoughts
If Bush isnt impeached by 2006, he will serve out two terms, the only thing that could impeach him now is the DSM, which is why the pressure has to be kept on the media.
