to have essentially taken a $700K bribe on his home sale to a defense contractor crony, and still lives on the defense contractor's boat rent free when in D.C. (the "contractor's" boat is called the "Duke-Stir").

AP:

LONDON - U.S. officials held secret talks in Iraq with the commanders of several Iraqi insurgent groups recently in an attempt to open a dialogue with them, a British newspaper reported Sunday.

The commanders "apparently came face to face" with four American officials during meetings on June 3 and June 13 at a summer villa near Balad, about 25 miles north of Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, according to The Sunday Times.

16. Coingate & stolen election
http://www.valleyadvocate.com/gbase/News/content?oid=oid:113848
<snip>

And down there at the bottom of this story, down among the polyps, microbes and mad-cow prions, resides a rare-coin dealer in Toledo named Tom Noe. Noe was, yes, one of the top fund-raisers in Ohio for the Bush reelection campaign. He was what Bush-Cheney folks call a "pioneer," meaning he raised up to $250,000 for their efforts toward permanent war and deficits. Ohio is the state, you may recall, where Wally O'Dell, another valued Republican "pioneer," lives. O'Dell was the man who wrote to the RNC, prior to the election, "I am committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."

O'Dell made good on that commitment. O'Dell owns and operates Diebold, the company that makes touch-screen voting machines -- the ones without a paper trail, the ones that have proven to be susceptible to hacking and fraud, the ones that will eventually be installed in every American voting precinct to assure that all election results will be open to debate and that in the future you will hear variations on the following: "Oh, so sorry, your candidate lost to the Republican again ... and it was so close. Well, nice try, see you in four years ..."

You may also recall that there was a bit of a dustup last November over voting discrepancies in Ohio, the state's tainted electoral votes being nonetheless awarded to Bush, putting him over the "reelection" hump. The decision to invest in rare coins and to give money to Noe was approved by Ken Blackwell, Ohio's secretary of state and the man responsible for signing off on the vote count, despite pending lawsuits. For the full sordid story, see What Went Wrong in Ohio, the new report (with a blistering preface by Gore Vidal) based on official testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI). Conyers will one day be seen as a real hero and patriot for bucking the Republican power brokers and the spineless leadership of his own party to get at the truth.

Kentucky Governor, Ernie Fletcher, (remember him? his plane was practically shot down over DC last year during Reagan's funeral?) and his own personal gang of thugs are under intense investigation for hiring practices for his administration. It has now spread from the Transportation Dept right into the Governor's office. Corruption through the repug party is evident in the state houses, too. Just another drip for the Christian Taliban.

It's supposedly a new and nastier version of Napalm so it's referred to as Napalm-type firebomb. There was a discussion about it on DU but since I'm not a member (yet) I can't run a search for it... sorry.

This is the link I think they used:

and all the DRIPS coming down. :D

Graham's always been a pretty good guy and has always seems to have tried to stay a-political (unless you count him saying Bill should preach and Hillary should run the country at the Crusade ;) ). Although I don't follow the same spiritual path I respect him and feel he is someone that truly tries to live the life that Jesus taught.

My late mother loved watching his crusades on TV so I watched him when I was young and when I hear his name mentioned I listen to what's being said usually. The first time I ever knew what party he followed was very recently when he said he was a "lifelong Democrat" in an interview. I think he has ministered to most Presidents, both Repub and Dem in my lifetime.. except Bush Jr if I remember correctly he was "too sick" to go when invited. He seems pretty close to the Clinton's... I seem to remember that he went to them as a minister when Monica-gate broke out although admittedly my memory isn't what it should be lately.

The Fundies must be going crazy on that one!
He seems to be a real Christian IMO.

Also seems that as he comes to the end of his life, he is even more in touch with the way Jesus would want him to speak. And Jesus is NOT telling him to hug GWB. That is loud and clear so far. I do believe that this administration will send Condi to "welcome" him to New York for his Crusade.

It looks like RAINDROPS are falling from the sky! Let it R A I N!

America is waking up now and they are beginning to understand how evil Bush is - this is a sad examplke of his ways.

Rove's media should be shouting the names and circumstances from the roof tops.

It is rare, IMO, that women would be wounded/killed in these numbers.

But what is the lead story.... Aruba and the shark attack.

I am not putting the young lady in Aruba down in any way. Each life is precious but...

For a government that wants to show how much they care about our soldiers, where is the sympathy?

Where is the sympathy and concern from the ROVE MEDIA!!
