DEFEAT the Republican Talking Points this Week with this little fact

The GOP will be doing MAJOR damage control this week, as demonstrated by Rumsfeld's interview on Meet the Press.

Rumsfeld is painting a real nasty turd. But a painted turd is still just that. Rumsfeld was saying that Democracy is flourishing in Iraq (painting a real nasty turd) and that this is Iraq's first democracy in 5000 years...

Only problem with a statement like that is that it's not a democracy. It's viewed by the people of Iraq as more of a puppet gov't (0) and if the U.S. pulled out, it would disintegrate. True democracies don't disintegrate.

And since when did Republican controlled Administrations take such an interest in democracies (they don't). In recent history,

- They (Reagan administration) made Saddam Hussein into the tyrant he became. (1)
- They (Reagan administration) made Osama Bin Laden (2)
- They (Reagan administration) fueled an insurgency to overthrow a socialist government without care of what would take its place (3)
