Sanctity of marriage? Ha! Bush has HARMED mine!
Hubby and I just had a fight about the friggin' Iraq war.

Not that he's in favor. He just blew up at me for ranting. Told me it's "getting old."

Well, it's getting old alright. Every day more deaths and atrocities.

Thanks Bush. Thanks for this never-ending nightmare we now live in.

1. It may be getting old, but
there are a lot of young men and women who aren't thanks to BushCo.

2. Head-in-the-sand attitude...all too common...
I get a lot of that reaction when I rant about Bush and all criminal behavior his mob have engaged in. It seems to take a personal tragedy for many people to realize the harm that is being done. Like the woman in Fahrenheit 911 who wakes up only after her son is killed. It's easier to ignore what's going on "over there" and focus on your life at this moment, when everyone is actually being affected in one way or another--it's just a matter of degree.

We are all frogs in the pot and the temperature's rising.

3. I've been told the same thing; concentrate on my own situation.
But it's related, in some ways to all that is going on.

People do need to get their heads out of the sandpits or their anal region. We're still a society. And the world is looking at us all.

4. Balance
I had a similar problem with my wife. I realized that it was not worth starting a war at home over a war that she had nothing to do with. Sometimes our rage needs to be channeled in the "right" direction, with constructive political organizing.

Don't get mad, get moving.

It is difficult for those of us who eat and drink this 24 hours a day to back off on our evangelical zeal over the evils of Bushco and his cronies. But in the end, we live with those we love and we should respect that these issues can be draining to others who don't share our outrage.

Try to learn from this and please don't break up an otherwise happy relationship over the likes of Bush and Co. They are certainly not worth it. This world needs more love and understanding, not less.

Peace abroad begins with peace inside each and every one of us.

I'll try to send you good vibes while I Sunday garden. :)

Good luck.

5. Come on now, everyone knows that
if you ignore a problem long enough it is bound to go away.

8. You're the types of Americans we've grown to love over the years!!
I'm sorry, but some of your replies overwhelm me. I will take your comments back to Canadian sites where too often we view so many Americans as not caring. You guys obviously care--a helluva lot!! You are the ones who will carry the message to your countrymen that you can be all powerful without losing your humanity. With the exception of our own bunch of neocons, we hate what has been done in your name since BushCo came on the scene. Meanwhile, we have our own messes to clean up. So much to do, so little time to do it!

Damn, I'm glad I found this site. Keep up the good fight.
