Rummy ... 'could be up to twelve years' and Condi's 'generational
commitment' blather. Last week Condi tipped the hat to the next attempt to reinvent recent bush history.

She claims that the administration had told the public that there might be a generational commitment in Iraq.

think progress has a great item both on her statement to fox - and administration statements at the time of the invasion.

http://thinkprogress.org/index.php?p=1120

We could write it off as her speaking out of turn - but Rummy conceding we could be in Iraq ... x,y,z, or 12 years statement so soon after hers.

Almost like we are supposed to hear it enough times that it subtley falls into our psyche and we begin to believe... ya, we knew that, we 'signed on for that'....

Lets see if this rhetoric is also starting to be used by the rwing echochamber and the bushbots on the hill. and if it is - keep these quotes, courtesy of think progress - close at hand to debunk.

3. If they had said that in 2003,
would people have been so gung-ho to support the war?

4. Rummy also said there was no problem getting new recruits
Good thing. He said it was a merely a matter of "adjusting" incentives.
