since our son is a Marine, back in Iraq for his second tour. (He's not in the fifth, he's in the eighth). 2-8 Marines.

The message I got was that it's pointless for us to be there. We're not accomplishing anything and the people don't want us there. Businessmen and children are helping the insurgents.

One of the Marines they interviewed said they wanted to stay there because to leave would be disrespectful to their fallen comrades.

helping the car bombers hit me pretty hard. How can we possibly hope to "win" anything if the children are helping the bombers? And the businessman who is helping to fight the U.S....because he's desperate for our forces to leave.
The Marines seem to be confronting the reality of the situation. And their spokesmen are being as diplomatic as possible. I wish we could hear them being completely candid.
The "support the troops" conservative war supporters would be shocked into silence.

16. My husband cussed through the whole thing and said almost

those exact same words about bush. Hubby is how I would describe most Americans...pissed off but not obsessed about it like I am. His reaction made me think that this is what a lot of "moderate" americans are thinking as they watch this. And I think most people do watch sixty minutes.
