Action Alert: Nominate our own rep to the UN and condemn KRove.

With the president stuck in a quagmire over his choice of U.N. ambassador, people are saying it's time for our side to take the initiative and suggest our own alternatives.

Why is this such a good idea?

First, it demonstrates to the American people in a positive way, "These are the kind of nominees you would get IF YOU ELECTED US."

Second, it forces the president to turn his nose up at each and every one of 2-5 strong candidates.

And third, it further shows the intransigence of a president incapable of admitting or correcting his mistakes, regardless of how apparent the failure of his policies is to everyone else.

We should tell our senators we need to hold a PRESS CONFERENCE this coming week and do just exactly that.

And while we're at it, why don't we condemn Karl Rove for his despicable comments attacking those who are now opposed to his disatrous Iraq occupation?

Last time we checked the Afghanistan resolution passed in both houses with only one dissenting vote. It's just another attempt to rewrite history with a smear.

was the first name on your list. I don't think Biden would accept because I'm not convinced he's still not aiming to run for President in '08.

President Clinton, or Carter, would drive the freepers absolutely insane. For proof of that go read any of threads they have going on today about President and Senator Clinton at saturday nights Billy Graham "crusade." Both men would be excellent choices as they are respected by world leaders, have a sensible approach to foreign policy and are actually diplomats, unlike Bolton or Condi.

This is a very good plan to send Bush some alternative ideas but I wouldn't bet a penny against him recess appointing Bolton and a number of judges.
