I had written to compliment the Miami Herald journalist who wrote the piece
"Americans inching closer to reckoning".
I received an interesting reply from him. Here is the relevant part:
"I haven't thought much about the idea of moving the U.N., but I can certainly understand why much of the world would be increasingly disillusioned about having it in a country that doesn't respect it, doesn't support it and usually acts as if it would prefer not to be a part of it.
On the other hand, I do believe the U.N. needs to find some way to contain or limit the policy influence of obvious totalitarian regimes with clear records of human rights violations. Some minimal commitment to human rights and human justice should be required before assuming a leadership position within the body, don't you think? Then again, one could argue that the United States under the current administration....!"

To this I replied that the country which comes closest to his totalitarian regime concept is the present US malAdminsitration followed by the unelected EUROPEAN COMMISSION!!
