Apparently it's OK when the 10 Cs are included in "historical context" which is a cop-out to me. Green light given to other courthouses to put a tiny picture of the Magna Carta or some such thing next to their decalogue plaque to justify it.

I certainly wouldn't expect justice if the door to the courtroom featured some monument telling me that anything outside the Judeo/Christian/Islamic religion was cursed.

It's those first three commandments, folks, that make the whole thing inappropriate for a country that prides itself on religious tolerance.

if you are one of the Christians who doesn't want to see a religion of peace and love contaminated by politics.

The display of the Ten Commandments and prayer in schools is ultimately a bigger threat to Christianity than to anything else because it fosters resentment and loathing. It doesn't make people love Christ to coerce them into praying at a high school football game.

And it debases Christianity to have people chanting a government-approved prayer.

and the fundies have pushed me right out of religion. i use to embrace the beauty, grace, lite of the religion. not being group think, i could never participate in, we would honor the jesus in house. the story. yet, with fundamentalists, literalists.....they have totally isolated me from religion

Many of the flock are leaving the religion with more and more numbers dropping the church, everyday. These laws in place to protect religion will some day be appreciated by the soon to be Christian minority.
