I have a question regarding Rummy and Defibrillator Dick
Edited on Mon Jun-27-05 01:24 PM by Dr.Phool
Have we ever NOT been at war when Cheney and Rumsfeld were in the Executive Branch? I'm going back into the '80s, and although we didn't have significant troops on the ground, we were running dirty little wars in Central and South America. In the '70s it was Vietnam and Indonesia.

on edit: corrected "defibulator"

1. Small pet peeve...it's defibrillator
Even the nurses where I work say "defibulator" though and I think of someting that removes a fibula from a person's leg.

Okay, off soapbox...

Really good question! Hope there are some historians here who know!

4. Consider it corrected
But you might have an idea for a new invention here. About 5 years ago my wife broke her fibula and tibia. Could've used one of those!

6. Ouch! I work on an orthopedic floor and that has to be the most
painful fracture we manage up there. I feel so badly for those folks! Hope she healed okay.

3. Rummy was in the Executive both during the
wonderful year of Nam, closing days (Under Secretary of defense)

And he was also Ford's Secretary of Defense and was part of the gang under Reagan.

Chenney was a congressman during Reagan and 41s Secretary of Defense, he was nowhere near the Nixon WH

5. So that's why Nixon's faux pas wasn't anywhere near as bad as *'s
Cheney didn't have his hand in it to exponentiate the ill effects. And maybe Rummy had just gotten into the Admin when the war ended and felt "left out". So he wanted revenge right along with Shrub this time.
