Wingnut LTTE Caribbean Net News says that * should invade Aruba.
"I have personally written our President, George W. Bush, and asked him to consider extreme military action if Natalee is not returned now. It’s about time that Americans cleaned up the Caribbean and stopped the drug running and white slavery you are well known for. You are all communist sympathisers and need to have your backside kicked. Return Natalee now, or else."

"The Caribbean Net News has been publishing letters about the missing Alabama teen story. Many Americans have written lettters that are mean sprited and show the ingnorance of the writers regarding international law, geography and Caribbean/Dutch culture and law.
:(Fortunately, there are some decent Americans who have written and apologized for the ignorance and meaness of our fellow countrymen.:)
Many Caribbean residents and Dutch nationals have written scathing letters in response to the wacky wingnut Americans.

Every time I read these Americans' comments about Aruba, it only tells of their hypocrisy. To tell Americans that they shouldn't visit that Caribbean island, because of a young lady who went about drinking like if there was no tomorrow, thus allowing herself to be a victim of a crime, (let's just hope that this isn't a case like that of the runaway bride) is uncalled for. Should they claim that their comments are justifiable, then they should just ask that all Americans get out of America rather very quickly, as these things happen over there daily.

Mary Seale went as far as to say that she will no longer visit Aruba, as she didn't want to spend her money on an island where such things happen. My advice to her is that she stops paying taxes to the US Government or spend any money whatsoever, as her country is involved in far more mess than a girl having gone missing on an island. Doesn't she look at her television?

All these Americans want to do is continue keeping the small islands at their knees."

1. Don't be embarassed to be an American - be embarassed that these
people think they represent the "majority" of Americans . . . or that these people "are Americans" . . .

2. Good point. I am embarassed that they think they "represent" all of us.
These folks are making us more hated everywhere. Now they're pissing off folks in the Caribbean and in the Netherlands. I wish that they didn't presume to represent all of us.

I usually read this web site daily to keep up with Caribbean news (I have Grenadian friends.) The editors started publishing these letters last week. Oy! :(

4. I say we transfer all troops from Iraq to Aruba
They desperately need some R & R. Umbrella drinks for all and they can leave their weapons behind. Oh, let's send their families down there, too! :)

8. We invaded a tiny island that is so small that not all expat Grenadians
could return all at once: they couldn't fit! My Grenadian friends lived through the Revo (Revolution) and the subsequent US invasion.

We managed to bomb a mental hospital and kill many innocent people there and elsewhere on the island. We tortured the people (Gov't leaders) that we captured just like the Gitmo victims have been tortured (Taken offshore to ships, stripped naked, photographed, taken back to shore and put in cages in the tropical heat and then imprisoned since the invasion.) My friend's brother is one of the prisoners known as the Grenada 17. Their death sentence was commuted but they are still imprisoned in a fortress on a hill in Greanada. They are appealing their case to the privy court in London at this time.

Read Rich Gibson's Counterpunch article called "The Last Prisoners of the Cold War are Black."

6. I cannot believe those people actually think we should invade Aruba!
Am I the only one who was positive this girl was dead weeks ago? What do these freaks think is going on with this? One freaking blonde girl gets killed on vacation and it's a nat'l emergency, but half the country still thinks Iraq is behind 9/11!

7. She was dead weeks ago. I bet she drowned and was washed away
in the surf and current and consumed by sharks. The island has wicked surf and currents at the beach where she went with those boys. Who knows what happened for sure. I speculate that she went swimming and got washed away and the boy(s) freaked out and went home.

Several of the Caribbean letter writers note that the American women visitors have "loose morals", drink too much and wear revealing clothing, etc. I have Caribbean friends from Grenada. They are quite conservative and religous and they dress in a rather preppy fashion. They do not "party" to excess and attend church regularly. It is frowned upon to act like a fool if you are a touurist visitor to their little island. Unfortunately, many Americans do act foolishly. :(
