What movies best reflect the US's foreign policy?

I was flipping through the channels and on one of them is a Harrison Ford movie called 'Air Force One'. It got me to thinking of the movies that seem to encourage waving of the flag. There are a bunch of the movies that seemed to be made from the theme of the national anthem.

The one that seems to reflect our foreign policy best is 'Delta Force' with Chuck Norris. That's at the top of my head.

12. Well this may not be "foreign policy" exactly

but no movie in recent history has summed up the Bush administration better than Revenge Of The Sith. Of course I'm biased because I'm a huge SW fan but judging from the amount of Sith quotes I see on DU every day alot of people agree with me.

Salvador: about the human consequences of St. Reagan's Central American adventures. As a nice bonus, works in a much-needed slap at worthless media jackasses. The know-nothing anchor-'ho who dresses in Abercrombie & Fitch camouflage (and gets hosed on acid) was allegedly based on Connie Chung.

The Quiet American: not just applicable to Vietnam...

Who'll Stop The Rain: not as mean as Robert Stone's book it was based on, but still pretty damn good. Anthony Zerbe is great as the slimiest "anti-drug" Fed ever.

I know there are more profound movies dealing with ACTUAL politics, but this movie really emphasized the power of fear to control the masses. The message seemed very democratic and anti-Bush to me.

another one is Walker (starring Ed Harris): William Walker was an American soldier of fortune who in 1853 tried to annex part of Mexico to the United States. He failed, though his invasion contributed to the climate of paranoia and violence which led to Mexico surrendering large areas of territory shortly thereafter. Two years later he invaded Nicaragua, ostensibly in support of one of the factions in a civil war. But his real intention was to take over the country and annex it to the U.S. He betrayed his allies and succeeded in making himself President. He ran Nicaragua, or attempted to run it, for two years. In the U.S. he had been an anti-slavery liberal, but in Nicaragua he abandoned all his liberal pretensions and attempted to institute slavery. He was kicked out of Central America by the combined armies of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Honduras.

Walker tried to go back twice and was eventually caught by the Hondurans and executed. He is relatively unknown today, but in his day he was fantastically popular in the United States. Clear and Present Danger....the prez wanted revenge on the people who killed one of his friends, he used his hate for the drug dealers, and authorized special ops missions to wipe out drug cartel shops/leaders/growers....i think its close, just replace the drug cartels with terrorists....
