"Democrats, get ahead of the curve" II

I posted about this before, and I'll warn about it again. Things are going south in Iraq, and the responsibility-challenged right is looking for scapegoats, which is why Der Rove is making the rounds accusing us of providing aid and comfort to the enemy and subverting the war effort by questioning administration policy. Bill O'Liely wants Air America to be arrested en masse for "underming the war" and we can expect more of this sort of thing from the noise machine in the coming weeks. They don't want this to land on them, folks, and we've got to make sure they can't land it on us. The polls are against them now but there's no guarantee that will last. Dick Durbin learned what comes of apologizing for criticizing King George, if you think you'll have to apologize for saying it, don't say it, but if you say it, don't apologize. I think the people are looking for spine right now, and the administration is flopping around, but the window can close quickly. Apologizing for speaking the truth as you see it just feeds the stereotype the republicans have hung on the Democrats, that we don't stand by our convictions. Get on message and stay there, and if Rove (or Dickless Fucking Daley) doesn't like it, tough shit.
