If he keeps repeating his tired old phrases "killers",terraists", "freedom
and so on, no one is going to buy it.This is why tonight's address will be heavy on the visuals and light on the verbal inanities. They know that the old tricks are not working so will resort to tried and true techniques of wrapping the Commander-in-Chief around the flag, may be have a couple of soldiers give Bush a thumbs up sign and so on.

Like Hitler in his last days, he will blame the American people for not supporting his phony crusade and lash into people who oppose him as traitors. His phony folksy self dissolve in front of us and he will reveal the grim visage behind his folksy mask.

1. Don't forget the repetitive invoking of 9/11
I expect to hear no less than a dozen mentions. The manipulation must continue on the backs of the victims of 9/11 and all those lost in Iraq, military and civilian alike.

3. Correct.He will merge 9/11 and the War on Iraq as much as possible.
But that may be a hidden sword that will come to haunt him later, if not tonight. The more he tries to merge the two,any questions about his lies on the War on Iraq, via the DSM, makes his role in 9/11 an open question. The question is:Is he smart enough to avoid that association?

fallen from your eyes.

7. But he has NOTHING ELSE.
"Terra, freedom, 9/11, Democracy on the march, world better without Saddam," what the fuck ELSE has he said for damn near four years now? Unless his handlers have decided to do something approaching a 180--and are willing to take the risk of putting The Chimp at the podium without weeks of rehearsal--it will be More Of The Same tonight.

This all gets VERY interesting in light of the ABC News/Washington Post poll which shows A record 57 percent say the Bush administration "intentionally exaggerated its evidence that pre-war Iraq possessed nuclear, chemical or biological weapons."

Speaking of polls, let us return to those thrilling Days of Yesteryear. Every time Bill Clinton addressed the nation on TV, his poll numbers went UP. Every time bu$hler goes on TV, his numbers go DOWN. The Handlers are taking a big-ass gamble by putting Idiot Boy on the tube tonight!

9. So, anyone ready for President Stevens or President Rice

* is falling in the polls, obviously the neocons need a new
patsy... so what's better than a prime time assassination?
(Note to SS and FBI types, I am NOT suggesting that someone do
this nor do I have any knowledge that this may happen)

Crashcart apparently had another medical "thing" happen, so he
can remove himself from the LOS, Hastert can decline, so that
leaves Stevens or Rice. With a new "mandate" to fight the war
on terra.

Likely to much tinfoil...

10. Yes. I agree 100%!!!
I think that it is a very poor move on the administration's part to bring this fellow out from under wraps now. It is hard for me to see any benefit for the administration. Bush has been discredited.

The average American family will be watching to see how he tries to reconcile Cheney's claim the insurgents are on their last leg, with Rumsfeld's admitting they have 12 years left. If he ignores this, he looks like a chump. If he tries to tackle the issue, he's done.

We are not talking about a man of character. He does not have JFK's gift for taking the toughest issues head on. He does not have Reagan's ability to turn reality into a made-for-tv drama. He doesn't have Clinton's ability to communicate on levels that are deeper than the surface awareness of the audience.

This will be viewed as a more dismal showing than Carter in the sweater (which I thought was valid, though it played horribly).

11. Ya'll just wait
When the troopies serenade him with ooorahs, the tension will melt.
W will become the compassionate leader that he campaigned as. No mistakes admitted, just a tear for the dead and somehow he will have to control the smirking. They will not shake our will. :sarcasm: :woohoo:
