I know what you mean completely. Sometimes you can't even mildly disagree with people around here without being labeled a hatemonger. But then again, zealots are everywhere and for every issue, so DU is not exempt.

Technically, if you are criticizing a group of people then there is a good chance that doing so is bigoted. Our rules point to exactly this distinction: "As a general rule of thumb, posts about ideas are generally okay, but posts about groups of people are often inappropriate."

I know this is in response to the "If you dislike all Christians, you are a Bigot" thread. But I don't think these two threads are equal. I'm sure we can all agree here that if someone dislikes all Christians, then that is indeed, bigoted. Just as it would be bigoted to dislike all atheists or gays or African-Americans.
