50 State Poll - Bush above 50 in only 14 States 40 or Lower in 14
SurveyUSA is kicking ass on these 50-state polls. The latest is Bush's approval ratings everywhere in our great country.

The bottom line, Bush is at 50 percent or above in only 11 states -- Utah (63), Nebraska (60), Wyoming (58), Idaho (56), Montana (56), Alabama (54), Alaska (53), North Dakota (52), Kansas (51), Kentucky (50), Mississippi (50), and Texas (50).

He's at 40 percent or lower in 14 states -- Ohio (40), Wisconsin (40), Maine (39), Massachusetts (39), Delaware (38), Nevada (38), New Jersey (38), Michigan (38), California (37), Connecticut (37), Illinois (37), New York (33), Rhode Island (33), and Vermont (32).

The weighted average (based on each state's percentage of the US population) is 43 approve, 53 disapprove.

Lots of Red States experiencing a rash of buyer's remorse.

1. But Ohio voted for the prick....
or perhaps they didn't, because that's an awfully big swing in numbers. The rest of the 40 or lower states all went Kerry.

I'm so glad to see it's as low as it is even though it's still the highest of the states.

12. GA is the bellwether of the South
I read somewhere for class that traditionally changes in trends in politics tend to happen there first because Atlanta is the largest city in the South and is rather solidly educated, cultured and metropolitan comparatively. (The large % of the population of GA that lives in Atlanta makes it the most liberal(although by no means a liberal state persay) of the traditional southern states.) Changes and the spread of information occur in GA first and tend to radiate outward for this reason.

14. Interesting. I live in Atlanta.
I just consider Atlanta an island.

Once heard a state worker say, "Remember, when you leave Atlanta, you're in Georgia."

10. Well, that's good for 2006.
Especially in states with low ** approval and Republican representatives/senators. Could depress Republican turnout and fire up the Democratic base.

20. Well, well....
Yeah, Buyer beware, to the states that voted for this man, who are now regretting it...It a little to late, but hopefully some good will come out of it, like a resignation, or an admittance of making many foolish errors in iraq and in other policies, but this is the GWB WH, can't have any apologys...or admitted mistakes, so its going to be a rough four years...
