What you should have done after 9/11? It would have been a good start to professionally examine the rubble of the World Trade Center instead of shipping it to China in a hurry. My obligation as an American is to look squarely in the face what has been done in MY name. I didn't approve it, I didn't want it. It happened anyway.

In my math class on Monday, I was telling everyone of looking at some photos and how sick they made me feel. I didn't mention my opinion of the poisonous shrub, just that I felt it my duty to witness the horrors of this war.I've been looking at pics trying to find before & afters of Iraq city streets, which I asked about in another thread. One man who sits next to me said "Well are you doing that for 9/11?" I replied no, there were plenty of pictures out there of 9/11, except the first plane impact. I went on to add that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, blah blah. I avoided an argument with him by staying very general and not pursuing the discussion. I wanted to take it further, but I know I'm amongst the RW here, and one of my classmates has 4 family members in Iraq. I don't mind rocking the boat most of the time, but I prefer to pick my chances and it just wasn't a good time to push it. But it left me a bit bummed because there are still so many people who just don't get it, especially here in rural-land.
