'We have enough troops, but PLEASE ENLIST!!!'.
Edited on Wed Jun-29-05 12:38 AM by Stirk
Early in his speech, Bush stressed that we have plenty of troops in Iraq. However...

"If our commanders on the ground say we need more troops, I will send them."

Of course, Mr. Bush promised last year that there would be no Draft. But apparently those mean generals could force his hand.

"As we determine the right force level... I will continue to be guided by the advice that matters: the sober judgment of our military leaders.

He later concluded with this not-so-subtle plea for fresh recruits:

"And to those watching tonight who are considering a military career, there is no higher calling than service in our armed forces."

I'm reminded of Bush's promise that he had "no war plans" on his desk, with regards to Iraq.

1. He did *not* plea for more troops.
He only said, if you're already thinking about it, sign on up.

That's no better than telling us to support the war by going shopping.

6. Of course, the plan's not on his desk. He doesn't read.
They showed him a video of a smart bomb hitting a barn and he said, "Go for it."

What bomb would Jesus drop?

4. The American people won't go for a draft
Period. We are now too informed as to who profits from a draft. And it isn't the average American citizen. Let them try it and it will be "hell, No we won't Go" in sounds they've never heard before.
