bush speech; FAKE APPLAUSE.
ABC's Terry Moran just reported that the only time Bush got applause was in the middle of his speech when a White House advance team member started clapping all on their own in order to cajole the soldiers into clapping, which they dutifully did.

Fake. That sums up the entire bushCartel.

4. I thought it must be some trigger,
I was thinking an applause sign, but they'd have used it more. Thanks for info.

Before hand talking heads said speech would be longer due to soldiers enthusiastic applause. After the speech they said the soldiers were either asked not to applaud by the bush team or were being respectful by listening attentively and not interrupting.

I listened to it but could rarely look at TV because...well bush's face was there. But once I looked up when they were showing the audience and the soldiers in the shot were saying things to each other and looking very displeased by their facial expressions. Many around them sat with arms crossed...not looking happy or attentive. Maybe it was just that small group, that one shot...but I doubt it.

Even those who want to do their duty, even in Iraq, have to resent him for the horrible planning and support in Iraq and at home. They have to be a lot more aware of it then the masses are, especially those who happily believe bush is a god fearing hero who supports the truth and apple pie and all that fake persona. Soldiers living it have to know.

13. They appeared quite somber.
I even caught a few eyes rolling.

Of course, it's pretty disgusting that our troops are constantly being utilized as propaganda props by this misadministration.

18. Clark rebutted most of the lies in Bush's speech-and did a great job
Starting with there's no connection between Iraq, Saddam and 9/11. Stating that Iraq was an elective war, not part of the war on terror, and that we are now creating terrorists because of our invasion.

17. Look what the New York Post said

"The White House asked the 750 pumped-up soldiers and airmen in the crowd to avoid clapping or cheering, but they couldn't resist loud applause."

19. The lack of applause is the only way
these soldiers can protest. I believe this was a coordinated effort on their part to send their position on this war. I saw civilians in the front clapping but the soldiers were not....

21. There was absolutely NO reason
for the Monkey to go to Ft. Bragg to make this speech. Everything he said could have been broadcast from the Oval Office.

Just goes to show...everything in this administration is about manipulation. Makes me sick!
