The Covet thing in the Ten Commandments.....
One version of the ten com, I think it was the Austin Texas statue, highlighted the Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy NEighbors House....

Well Ecuse me, but does that mean the whole Real Estate Boom going on in this country is against the laws of god and nature......

How can we be a christian Nation if all we do and all we are is based on Coveting things....

What about advertising.....

It's just there to make us covet....

And then this thing about the seventh day should be set aside for rest.....

That ain't happening in Christian America. Sunday, the Christian day of rest as well as Saturday, the Jewish day of rest and friday, the Muslim day of rest are all treated like just another day.....

So what exactly are they talking about.....

Maybe we should have the eight commandments........

1. If they can put "Thou shalt not kill" in a death penalty state do
you really think they are concerned with covet? It is a good point though and one that should be asked of these fanatics. I'd like to hear their answer to that.

4. I always ask my christian friends about this
and they dismiss this as a splitting hairs arguement....

But it's not....

The whole idea was set down to provide stability to a nomadic culture that was transforming itself into a town based society....

3. Didn't Jesus expand on this theme in the Sermon on the Mt?
Something in there about "blessed are the poor," camels getting through needles faster than rich folk and giving up one's world goods to be a true follower? Maybe these so-called christians should bang their foreheads on those 10C monuments. Might knock some sense into them, or...?
