Dean and the Lying Liars
I think it was Dean (correct me if it was some other candidate you support)who first made the point that our flag is not the exclusive property of Falwell, Robertson, Limbaugh, etc. I truly believe that we have a fight on more fronts than just attacking Bush---it's going to take also putting a big dent into and destruction, if possible, of those who have enabled the right wing repuke scum to descend on and rape our nation. I think all the candidates need to take up the bashing of these hate mongers---no one really has in the past. There have been 'comments' over the years BUT I'm talking about making them a prime, prime focus and target of '04. We need to inform the people constantly, until they know, not only who but how they took over this country and brought such hatred and division into American society. In other words, call on the people to turn these people off, turn this administration out, stop the fear and start walking towards the light of hope. Teach them that listening to this swill is unpatriotic and unChristian (as they hide behind the cross). I swear that the candidate that can give the people "hope" will win. That's what Clinton gave them. But we also have to constantly single out the Satans who have ripped the soul out of America with their Nazi-like propaganda.

In that moment I had a new understanding that this flag, as spangled with stars as a bolt of heaven itself, connects the United States with eternal principles of unity, of brotherhood, of sisterhood.

The energy of the stars present at the birth of this nation is with us still. It is upon that dark blue cloth of our flag. One bright star shines for hope. Another star for optimism. Another for well-being. One for freedom. One for abundance. One for creativity. One for togetherness. One for peace. One star to wish upon to create your highest aspirations, to make your dreams come true.

This, our country and our very selves are all made of stars as a popular song goes. This is who we are. This is what gives higher meaning to being an American. This is what gives higher meaning to patriotism. I love our flag. Though some would make it stand for chaos and war, I see the field of stars as standing for the highest expression of human unity.

I tell you there is another America out there. It is ready to be called forward. It is the America of our dreams. It is the America of the flag full of stars. It is the America which is in our hearts and we can make it the heart of the world.
