The Nation Weeps as the President Lies
The Nation Weeps as the President Lies; a detailed annotated review of each of the flood of lies Bush told.

By Anthony Wade

June 28, 2005

George W. Bush knows no shame. Having presided over the deaths of 1,700-7,000 American kids, for lies he propagated, President Bush used tonight’s message to extend his lies, and launch new, brazen mistruths. George Bush proved one thing tonight. He cares not what the American people think, and he further thinks they are too stupid to realize when they are being repeatedly lied to.

The President’s lies are in bold, followed by the truth.

It is an honor to speak before you tonight. My greatest responsibility as President is to protect the American people, and that is your calling as well. I thank you for your service, your courage and your sacrifice. I thank your families, who support you in your vital work. The soldiers and families of Fort Bragg have contributed mightily to our efforts to secure our country and promote peace. America is grateful – and so is your Commander-in-Chief

Really? Let’s take a closer look at how much this President expresses his gratitude. This past week it was announced that the Bush administration is short by ONE BILLION DOLLARS for covering the needs at the Department of Veteran Affairs. The democrats have tried mightily to add monies to the budget that would cover our veterans, only to be shot down by this administration. This is after the Veterans lobby had to beat back two egregious attempts to burden vets by doubling the medical co-payment and trying to impose a $250 enrollment fee. Bush can talk a good game, but in the end, you have to look behind the rhetoric and see that he expresses his gratitude in one breath while his actions, paint quite a different picture.

Great Piece Worth Reading

3. That auditorium at Fort Bragg where shrub spoke last night....
...was filled with a lot of very pissed-off military people, pissed-off at this president standing up at that podium proselytizing with a lot of talking points and hackneyed phrases and double-speak language. These people wanted to know if the president was really in touch with the reality in the Iraq theater and he supplied them with the answer.....ABSOfuckingLUTELY NOT!

7. We WILL pay the piper for our obscenities against humanity.
It's all quite sickening. We have made great technological advances but in the area of humanity, we are depraved--all of us who look at money and power as the end all of everything. Whether any of us like it or not, we are all to varying degrees complicit in this war. This entire system of capitalism needs to be carefully looked at. In our haste to make money and voraciously consume, we lose sight of those billions around the world who are unable to meet their basic needs. Similarly, even in our own countries, so many fall through the cracks and we step over them like they're not there--else we incarcerate them thinking we've solved the problem. I become quite ill whenever I think about it. If we can make great strides in warfare, why can't we make similar advances in our humanity to one another? That we elect leaders without hearts is a blight on us all. How in hell do we turn this mess around?

We simply must put a stop to this madness. My gut instinct tells me that this pillaging of "lesser" nations and the killing of their people will not ultimately wash. What goes around comes around. History has proven that repeatedly. We ignore history at our peril. Bushco obviously know no history. It's appalling. It's not a matter of if we will pay handsomely, it's a matter of when the guillotine falls. That plain. That simple. There is just no such thing as protecting a continent which has become as depraved as ours.

So when I listen to a man whose depravity is monumental--he urges that the course be stayed, thus ASSURING that many more lives will be lost--I fear the ultimate outcome. Those who die in this debacle will be the lucky ones. Those who are left behind sick of body and sicker of soul will suffer terribly. Please, someone, tell me, what exactly are BushBlairCo suffering. What are they and theirs sacrificing? It's positively obscene.

9. woah...the irony here is almost too much
I find I can't stomach any of the chimperor's speeches, so I missed the other night's pack of lies...the little snippets I happened to hear had me cussing at the radio. But I hadn't seen or heard this bit:

We're supposedly at war with those who "murder in the name of a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance, and despises all dissent." Wow...pot, meet kettle.

I suppose it's the same shit they've been spouting all along...just seems like recently they've been even more overt about rejecting tolerance, despising all dissent, and so forth.
