Look at this quote from the speech last night.....
I think we can agree there were never enough troops in Iraq. Having said that, here is the quote-

"Some Americans ask me, if completing the mission is so important, why don’t you send more troops? If our commanders on the ground say we need more troops, I will send them. But our commanders tell me they have the number of troops they need to do their job.

And sending more Americans would suggest that we intend to stay forever – when we are in fact working for the day when Iraq can defend itself and we can leave. "

...Let's pretend you are a "Commander on the ground"
after hearing Bush make the remark -

"sending more Americans would suggest that we intend to stay forever".......would you ask for more troops?

...went "holy shit, what a jerk-off!"...and their eyes glazed over or they started really squirming in their seats.

7. He is trying to save Rumsfield who bullied the generals into invading
with 200,000 too few troops. He is also trying to stop Americans from worrying about the draft. Kills two birds with one lie. IMHO

9. Bush is the Commander in Chief, not the generals....its his call
not theirs. That means he is at fault for faulty decisions. Period.

of the commanders on the ground being completely ignored right here.

15. This is off topic, I'm afraid,
but how do you make your link say "right here". My links only have the address, like this: <http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/reg/rege.shtml>

16. Like this...
Remove the "http:\\" from your link then format it this way:

(link:www.inspection.gc.ca/english/reg/rege.shtml|like this)

except instead of parentheses use brackets and this will happen when you post it...

like this

If you don't have the vertical divider on your keyboard you can type one by holding the ALT key while typing 124 on your numeric keypad (don't use the numbers in the top row above the letters)

Give it a try! :)

13. Will we keep sending more American contractors....?
If anything suggested that we intended to stay forever - it's the army of carpetbagging contractors that decended on Iraq...

19. That last line gave me chills
"sending more Americans would suggest that we intend to stay forever"

That bastard smirked, an evil smirk, when he said it. What I heard was the fact that was burried in an untruthful context...I heard "we intend to stay forever". The hair on the back of my back stood up as that nasty bastard said that with that insane grin on his face.
